Boltek Advanced Lightning GSM Warning System South Africa (ERL10-KIT1)

High accuracy short range detection with three programmable alert level relay outputs designed for use with the EFM-100. This kit includes the inverted EFM-100 with pole mount, and pre-wired waterproof enclosure with the ERL-10, EFA-21 (or EPM-1), relay output expansion cable and fault buzzer. Status monitor display software is also provided.

Boltek EFM-100 Electric Field Mill Short Range Lightning Detector 38 km

This system can be setup as either a complete standalone (autonomous) unit or connected to a PC for local viewing
of lightning (concentric distance rings) with provided Electric Field Monitor Software.

By adding the ERL-10 Lightning Relay Module system (included) can now alert via sirens/stack lights and can also send sms’s
with the addition of a GSM Commander. Once unit is setup it can run completely automatically NO USER
INTERVENTION REQUIRED.

Sms’s limited to 16 or less numbers, additional sms charges will apply.

Configuration software provided to configure the Relay Module ERL-10 in order to create a complete standalone
system.

Short range system is perfect for schools, mines, industry etc whereby system automatically sends out alerts and
does not require onsite monitoring or intervention.

Siren can be triggered for 1-minute alert along with flashing red led . Red led will remain flashing if danger still
persists, once storm clears siren will trigger intermittently for 10 seconds (10s on-10s off-10s-on) and green led will
then come on showing all clear and operational status of system. System can exclude certain hours or days such as a
school that does not require alerts at nighttime or on weekends.

From experience a 10 to 12 km zone is adequate warning, but is easily adjusted if required.
Installation can be indoors (limited to 30-meter cable length to outdoor sensor). For remote standalone locations
outdoors a weatherproof enclosure is required along with 220vac power point.

Power is essential to both systems so decent backups with 12 volt batteries and chargers or decent UPS systems will
be required.

Our standard system comes with a 7 amp hour backup battery for 5 to 8 standby hours.

Boltek ERL-10 Lightning Detector Operation

The ERL-10 receives data from the EFM-100 Electric Field Mill short-range sensor (<20 miles/32 km). It constantly monitors for lightning and activates its timed relay outputs when lightning is detected. Up to three alerts can be configured, referred to as Red, Orange and Yellow Alert levels. The green All Clear state is entered when no lightning has been detected within the configured time period.
When the ERL-10 is first turned on, it enters Survey Mode where it looks for lightning. After several minutes without lightning (configurable but typically 10-20 minutes) the system enters the All Clear state. The green All Clear light on the ERL-10 illuminates and the All Clear relay output activates.

The ERL-10 Status Monitor software (included) allows the system status and countdown timers to be displayed. Countdown timers clearly indicate the number of minutes until All Clear. Alert activations are timestamped and logged to disk. Graphical log file viewing software is also included.

It constantly monitors for lightning and activates its timed relay outputs when lightning is detected. Up to three alerts can be configured, referred to as Red, Orange, and Yellow Alert levels. The green All Clear state is entered when no lightning has been detected within the configured time period.

Coincidence Mode

With Coincidence Mode enabled, a lightning strike must be detected by both the EFM-100 and the LD-250 in order for an alert to activate. This virtually eliminates false alerts that could be caused by persons, animals, insects, etc. near the EFM-100 sensor. Coincidence Mode is only applicable within the range of the EFM-100 (0-20miles/0-32km).
