How do our lightning warning systems work?

Our Talos lightning detector is a very advanced and compact unit that is able to detect lightning with a range of 40 kilometres. Our product is extremely accurate and gives no false positives and this comes from months of us testing and trialling them.

When lightning starts approaching and is within 40 kilometres from your School a bright green light will flash with an audible tone warning the players that there are storms possible approaching. A green light stage is merely a warning that coaches should be alert to the possibility of thunderstorms and lightning approaching.

If the coaches then receive a blue warning light and audible warning tone it’s time they start taking the warning more seriously as it now indicates that lightning activity is present within a range of 10-25 kilometres and they should start considering suspending play.

If the coaches then receive a red warning light with the very audible warning tone they will then know (and see) that lightning activity is now very close and they should abandoned their game and head to the safety of the school buildings.

Plug and play lightning protection with no maintenance required

Our system is truly plug and play, install 2 x AA batteries, mount the device and turn it on nothing is simpler or as fool proof unlike the complicated expensive and error-prone systems you will find from our competitors.

The only maintenance required is to replace the 2xAA batteries and our system very smartly tells you when to replace them too.
